Tirana National Stadium, also known as Air Albania Stadium or Arena Kombëtare, is one of the most important sports infrastructures in the Balkans and a landmark architectural project for the Albanian capital. Designed by Archea Associati, the stadium was conceived as a multifunctional building capable of integrating sport, hospitality, retail and urban functions within a single architectural system. In this international context, MM Contract contributed to the creation of custom contract furniture for the representative interiors and the most functionally complex areas.

The architectural project of Albania’s National Stadium was conceived as an organism capable of managing different flows in a clear, safe and independent way. Its distinctive faceted rectangular shape, composed of eight sides, allows access points and circulation routes to be distributed between spectators, private areas, the hotel tower, retail spaces and service functions. This layout required furniture and finishing solutions capable of integrating into a highly articulated system, where every environment had to respond to specific requirements in terms of use, resistance and representative value.

Inside the stadium, the architecture is inspired by the form of the Roman theatre: the stands become a contemporary cavea, while the hotel façade acts as a scenic backdrop. This configuration includes VIP stands, exclusive sky-boxes, authority seating and press areas, spaces intended for a selected audience and subject to high standards of comfort, image and functionality. MM Contract’s intervention is positioned precisely within this dimension, contributing to the definition of interiors consistent with the iconic value of the building.

MM Contract created custom contract furniture and interior fitting components designed to dialogue with the architectural language of the stadium. Production was developed with close attention to execution precision, material durability and the quality of finishes, all essential elements in an infrastructure designed to host sports events, international performances, hospitality functions and private activities. Each solution was conceived to integrate with the architecture without weighing it down, ensuring aesthetic continuity and performance in use.

The complexity of Tirana National Stadium required a contract approach capable of combining custom production, technical coordination and on-site installation. In a large-scale building where public flows and reserved areas coexist, furniture is not merely an aesthetic element, but a functional part of the overall experience. For this reason, MM Contract developed resistant, precise and coherent solutions, designed to support the intensive use of the spaces and enhance the most representative areas of the facility.

This intervention confirms MM Contract’s ability to operate in complex, international and highly visible contract projects, collaborating with leading architecture firms to transform architectural concepts into concrete, functional and durable environments. Tirana National Stadium is a significant case study in the field of contract furniture for stadiums, public spaces and multifunctional sports infrastructures, where execution quality, architectural integration and operational reliability are decisive for the final result.
