Hotel La Gemma is a 5-star boutique hotel located in the historic centre of Florence, in Via dei Cavalieri, just a short walk from the Duomo, Piazza della Repubblica and the city’s most iconic landmarks. The hotel is housed inside Palazzo Paoletti, a nineteenth-century building transformed into a high-end hospitality destination where Florentine elegance, contemporary comfort and Italian warmth coexist in a refined guest experience. In this setting, MM Contract managed the production and coordination of custom contract furniture, contributing to the realization of the hotel’s interiors.

The interior design project, developed by the Milan-based studio DesignByGemini, interprets the historical identity of the building through an elegant, contemporary and highly recognizable language. The colour palette reflects the tones of Florence Cathedral, combining powder pink, ivory and vibrant greens with geometric patterns inspired by Art Deco, fine fabrics, marble surfaces and bespoke furnishings. MM Contract’s intervention translated this design vision into custom-made furniture, tailored components and coordinated finishes, ensuring visual consistency across rooms, suites and common areas.

La Gemma is conceived as an intimate and sophisticated hotel, with rooms and suites designed to offer comfort, privacy and a strong sense of place. Each environment required a precise balance between image, functionality and perceived quality: furniture was not simply a decorative element, but a key part of the overall guest experience. For this reason, MM Contract developed contract solutions suitable for the daily use of a luxury hospitality structure, with specific attention to material durability, finish quality and the relationship between aesthetics and performance.

The intervention involved multiple areas of the hotel, from rooms and suites to lounge spaces, common areas and environments dedicated to reception and hospitality. In a high-end boutique hotel, every detail contributes to the identity of the brand: surfaces, seating, storage units, custom components and finishes must work together with the existing architecture and the level of service offered. MM Contract ensured a coordinated approach, integrating production, supply and on-site installation with high execution standards.

The complexity of the project was also linked to the historical nature of the building, where custom furniture had to adapt to existing spaces, dimensional constraints, internal circulation and the operational needs of the hotel. In this context, bespoke production made it possible to develop solutions calibrated to the real characteristics of each environment, while preserving the sophisticated language defined by DesignByGemini. The result is a contract furniture system that strengthens the relationship between Florentine heritage, contemporary design and luxury hospitality.

Hotel La Gemma confirms MM Contract’s ability to work on high-profile hospitality projects, collaborating with interior design studios and demanding clients in the realization of custom furniture for hotels, boutique hotels and luxury accommodation facilities. From in-house production to operational coordination and final installation, MM Contract transforms design concepts into concrete, elegant and functional spaces. This intervention enhances the identity of the hotel, supports the guest experience and reinforces the company’s role in the field of contract furniture for luxury hotels in Florence.
